We operate a diverse fleet including trucks, step-deck flatbed trailers, flat-bottom end dump trailers, round-bottom end dump trailers, and van trailers. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee the daily upkeep of our equipment and assist with dispatching drivers to ensure smooth operations.
Position Overview
The Lead Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and documenting daily maintenance logs for all company equipment, ensuring that our fleet remains safe, compliant, and road-ready. In addition, this position will play an active role in dispatching drivers, coordinating schedules, and communicating with the team to maximize efficiency. A valid CDL is required to operate and test company equipment as part of maintenance duties.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks and trailers (step-deck, flatbed, end dump, and van trailers).
• Maintain accurate daily maintenance logs and ensure records are up to date.
• Identify and address preventative maintenance needs to reduce downtime.
• Ensure all equipment complies with DOT and company safety standards.
• Assist in dispatching drivers, coordinating schedules, and monitoring load assignments.
• Communicate with drivers and management to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
• Coordinate with management on repair schedules and equipment availability.
• Operate and road-test equipment when required (CDL required).
Qualifications
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
• Proven maintenance experience in trucking, trailers, and heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Dispatch or fleet coordination experience a plus.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping ability.
